Our commitment to social responsibility guides us to develop more than just homes. We foster communities that thrive sustainably.

Managing Waste Responsibly

We recognise that waste is unavoidable and are committed to managing it responsibly. Our waste management practices go beyond compliance and help reduce and reuse waste in ways that are beneficial for our communities and the planet.

EFFICIENT SEGREGATION

After segregating Dry and Wet Waste, we further separate our garbage into Plastic, Paper and Cardboard, Metal, and Non-recyclable waste. This precision enhances our recycling efficiency and reduces the landfill impact of the waste we generate.

SOLID WASTE SOLUTIONS

We collect segregated waste from our construction sites for recycling or proper disposal. Annually, we recycle approximately 70% of our dry waste, with only a small percentage disposed of responsibly in landfills.

COMPOSTING FOR SOIL ENRICHMENT

At Vianaar, composting is a standard practice as it helps us reuse waste and boost soil health.  All food and organic waste goes into our composting pits, where it breaks down to yield rich nutrients for our green spaces.

CONSTRUCTION WASTE MANAGEMENT

We have implemented a system for segregating and collecting dry waste from construction sites, which is sent for recycling. Debris waste is directed to landfills.

Green Cover Management

At Vianaar, we aim to integrate indigenous vegetation and Goa’s natural biodiversity into our landscapes when planting at our properties. We also try to incorporate mature trees into our designs wherever possible and organise regular tree plantation drives to add to the green cover.

COMPOSTING TRAINING FOR THE YOUNG

In collaboration with El Shaddai, Goa, a non-profit organisation working with underprivileged children, we conducted practical composting workshops that were reinforced with poster-making activities and follow-up sessions. To further promote sustainable practices among students, we have donated compost bins and khamba composters to schools.

SUPPORTING GIRL CHILD EDUCATION

We collaborated with the Rotary Club, Goa, to donate bicycles to school girls, an initiative aimed at encouraging school attendance and reducing drop-out rates among girl students.

Empowering Children

Raising children’s eco-consciousness is a step in the right direction, which is why we run engaging programmes for students across Goa, giving them hands-on knowledge of green practices. In addition, we donate compost bins to schools, to enhance waste-sorting practices among children.

SUSTAINABILITY PROGRAMMES FOR STUDENTS

We run programmes that educate students on the importance of sustainability and waste segregation, with a practical module on setting up home composting systems. So far, over 3,000 students from various schools in North Goa have participated in this programme.

ACTIVE LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

We work with ASRO, Goa, a community that cares for HIV positive children, to create practical learning opportunities for the kids. Our programmes include tree planting and setting up composting facilities.
